Congratulations to our MAE student team, comprising undergraduate students LAM Yan Tung (MAEG), CHIANG Hiu Ying (MAEG) and CHUNG Tsz Lung (MAEG), on receiving the Bronze Award in the National Finals of the 2023 National Undergraduate Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition (2023年中國大學生工程實踐與創新能力大賽全國總決賽) held from 8 to 10 December 2023 in Changchun, Jilin.

Hosted by the Engineering Training and Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, the competition is a comprehensive ability competition for undergraduate students among universities in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. It provides a platform for students to apply their engineering knowledge in real applications.

The MAE student team participated in the Intelligent Logistics Handling of the “Smart +” Category, in which they were required to design an autonomous robot that could complete specific tasks such as getting tasks by scanning QR code, identifying and picking up different materials on the rotating disc, transporting materials to corresponding storage area, etc. The team designed and built a prototype with good performance, and finally won the Bronze Award in the competition.
