The Hong Kong representative, Phantom Dancer Team, participated in the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2019 on 25 August 2019 in Mongolia. They defeated 17 regional winning teams from universities, colleges and academies of 16 countries and territories across the Asia-Pacific region and was crowned the Champion for the first time as Hong Kong team. After qualifying for the finale, they strove to upgrade the robots’ performance and conducted repetitive trails to minimize failure rates. The improved stability eventually gave Phantom Dancer’s robots advantages over traditional strong opponents like the China, Vietnam and Japan teams.
