Congratulations to our MAE undergraduate student team on winning the First-class Award (一等獎) in the “Smart Classification of Domestic Waste” track under the “Smart +” category in the National Finals of the 2025 China University Students Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition (2025年中國大學生工程實踐與創新能力大賽全國總決賽), held from 5 to 9 August 2025 in Dalian, Liaoning.

This competition was jointly organized by Dalian University of Technology and other institutions. It featured three main categories: New Energy Vehicles, Smart +, and Virtual Simulation. The event followed a three-tier format comprising university-level preliminary rounds, provincial/regional selection rounds, and a national final. A total of 771 universities, 26,324 teams, and 126 thousand students from across the country participated. Based on the results of the first two rounds, 1,135 teams from 435 universities—spanning 34 provinces (including the HKSAR and Macao SAR)—qualified for the national finals.
