Congratulations to our CUHK team, comprising our undergraduate students CHOW Tsun Yu, CHEUNG Cheuk Yuen, FONG Ching Man and TSE Siu Hung, for receiving the First Runner-up Award in the 10th Greater China Design Competition held on 30 April, 2022.
The theme of the competition is to design and build a “self-balancing robot” that can be used for balancing an object at different slopes. Due to the impact of the pandemic, the competition contains the presentation only. The CUHK team put a lot of effort into this project and performed well during the competition.
The Greater China Design Competition is a design competition for undergraduate students among universities in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Macau, which is hosted by the IMechE HK Branch. The aim is to provide a platform for students to apply their engineering knowledge in real applications, while in parallel strengthen their presentation skills by designing an innovative prototype to tackle the challenges ranging from environmental to social issues. Over the past ten years, CUHK has won five Champions, two First Runner-up Awards, one Second Runner-up Award and one Most Innovative Award.
