The MAE student team received six awards in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Tertiary Institution Innovation Project GBA Invitational Competition (the Competition) organised by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (the HKIE) on 9 March 2024. The Competition is one of the key events of the Hong Kong Engineers Week 2024.
With the HKIE’s hope of deepening cooperation and exchange among engineering institutions in the Greater Bay Area, engineering students from higher education institutions in Hong Kong and the Mainland were invited to form teams and compete in designated tasks at a field to win awards using self-designed and modified remote-control cars and robotic arms.
Prior to the competition day, each team collaborated to program and assemble two remote-control cars with robotic arms, as well as construct a bridge. During the final competition, participating teams were required to build sandcastles on-site and use their remote-control cars to relay and place flags on the sandcastles within a limited time.
With good collaboration and teamwork between the MAE student team and Shenzhen Polytechnic University Team A Group, the joint team received the following six awards in the Competition.
