Xiaohua Liu studied mechanical design and manufacturing & automation and mechanical design & theory at Yanshan University from 2008 to 2015 to get her Bachelor and Master’s degrees successively. She received her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2019. During her Ph.D. study, she received research training under supervision of professor Allen Yi at The Ohio State University from 2016 to 2018. After graduation, she subsequently joined Shenzhen University as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2022, she joined Shenzhen Technology University as an assistant professor. Her research activities have been in the general area of precision engineering with a focus on high precision high volume optical fabrication, freeform and microoptics fabrication, micro-lapping and polishing processes as well as wearable flexible electronic sensor. Her current research interests include compression molding of glass optics and injection molding of high precision polymer optics. She has more than 20 referred journal publications, and three patents (China).
